Physician Assistant
Prior to joining the International Spine Institute, Miguel served his country for 20 years as a decorated Navy Special Operations and Field Marine Force Hospital Corpsman (retired). Miguel joined the International Spine Institute in 2015 and comes to us with vast medical experience including:
- Navy Special Operations medical corpsman, emergency medicine, combat trauma
- Orthopedic and Sports Medicine
- Spine Orthopedics

Miguel works closely with Dr. Rodriguez to evaluate and assess patient’s pain and goals. As an extension of Dr. Rodriguez, Miguel’s goals are to offer his patients the least invasive option that provides the most extensive improvement to their lives.
After his dedicated service to his country, he moved to Louisiana in 2007 and attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana and completed his Physician Assistant Studies at LSU Health Service Center in Shreveport in May 2012. Miguel started his career as a physician assistant having practiced in a rural setting completing a year of Internal Medicine/Family Medicine. He joined Mid-State Orthopedics and Sports in 2013 honing his skills in orthopedics and sports medicine while assisting in clinic and surgery. In 2014, he sub-specialized and found his passion for spine at Louisiana Orthopedic and Spine Institute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
In July of 2015 we were honored to have Miguel become a proud team member of International Spine Institute. When not serving the needs of his patients, Miguel enjoys scuba diving and motorcycling.
